Tornabuoni Art Gallery London presented a digression on the Italian post-war cultural scene, with a particular focus on Milan, Turin and Rome, where the experimentation in the cinema, fine arts, design and architecture creates the famous cultural and economic rebirth known as “il boom”. Masters like Lucio Fontana, Alberto Burri, Tano Festa, Carla Accardi and Pino Pascali responds to this ferment through works with an extraordinary artistic value. The cartalogue edited by Flavia Frigeri helps to understand completely one of the most florid period of our time.

Flavia Frigeri is an Art Historian and Curator, currently Teaching Fellow and PhD candidate in the History of Art department at University College London, where she is completing a thesis on post-war Italian Art. Previously she served as a Curator, International Art and Assistant Curator at Tate Modern. She co-curated (with Jessica Morgan) The World Goes Pop, a reassessment of pop art from a global perspective. Previous projects include Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs, Paul Klee: Making Visible and Ruins in Reverse. From 2010 to 2011 she was awarded the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation’s Hilla Rebay International Fellowship, which involved responsibilities at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York; the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao; and the Peggy Guggenheim Collection, Venice.
